MVP Dikkelle Children's Centre
Makandura Village Projects (MVP) first began its work in 1986, by
responding to the national need for rehabilitation of youngsters
who were displaced due to the then ongoing conflict and/or who were
generally impoverished by lack of government funds to address their
basic rights to food, shelter, education and training. MVP initially
set up a basic refuge for destitute children, Dikkelle Children's
Centre, so that they are able to reclaim their childhood and rebuild
their self-esteem... more
MVP Vocational Training Centre
MVP identified the needs of the local community, so that vocational
training would lead to acquisition of marketable skills. There is
a demand in the community for skills in professional Vehicle Engineering
and Commercial and Domestic Sewing plus casual training for boys
in the children's centre in carpentry, construction and agricultural

MVP Agri-Development Project
This year ICT was able to obtain funding to begin an agri-development
project, which will move Dikkelle even closer to self-sufficiency.
ICT is very keen to support a project that could eventually mean
self-sufficiency for one of its long-term strategic partners...

Shilpa Development Centre
For over ten years, Shilpa Children's Trust (Shilpa) has worked
in close harmony with social workers, the courts, displaced person
camp authorities and other government organisations. The centre
